Silver Advisors™ are professional geriatric care managers and other experts who provide phone consultations on preventing falls, navigating Medicare, evaluating senior driving challenges, and other issues baby boomers must resolve while caring for an aging loved one. Silver Advisors clarify concerns, suggest a plan of action, help prioritize next steps, and furnish personalized written plans and recommendations.

Assessment: If you're worried about Mom falling again or Dad having another fender-bender, an assessment consultation could be just what you need for peace of mind. Your Silver Advisor will ask the right questions to determine exactly what's wrong and what you can do to help keep you loved ones living independently and safely for as long as possible. Please note that our assessment consultation is a problem-solving session. If, however, you believe further assistance is required, a Silver Advisor can continue working on your issue(s) for an additional fee.
Understanding Medicare: Do you know what Medicare covers and does not cover? What it costs? Does your loved one need a Medigap, Part D, PACE, or Medicare Advantage plan? What are the care differences? Let us answer your questions while giving you a few tips for navigating through the seemingly puzzling world of Medicare. We’ll help you understand your coverage options and needs under the program and identify sources of assistance with Medicare-related premiums and co-insurance.
Understanding Medicaid: Can Medicaid help pay for in-home care services or for long-term care in your state? Do you need to know the eligibility criteria for Medicaid-funded programs? Options under Medicaid differ from state to state, so let us do the legwork for you. A Silver Advisor will provide the facts and information you need to make informed decisions.
Aging-in-place home modifications: Have you considered your home’s potential for adaptation as you experience the natural changes of aging? In-home care: What if your loved one wants to stay home but needs help to stay safe and supported? We can explain what home care agencies are permitted to do to help your loved one, and we’ll find resources close to his or her home. If you prefer to hire caregivers independently, we’ll guide you through the process of deciding what skill set the caregiver must have, advertising for a caregiver, interviewing and selecting a caregiver, and supervising your caregiver’s work. We’ll also help you plan for the financial realities of in-home care and offer options to plan for the long term.
Supportive housing options: Mom wants to find a retirement community in Austin, Aunt Mae needs affordable senior housing in Pittsburgh, and Grampa needs a memory care setting near Los Angeles. Not sure where to begin or what questions to ask? How much it will cost? How to help your loved ones acclimate to a new environment? How to help them leave the family home?
