Pets Aren’t People
So don’t give them people food
“One of the biggest myths among pet owners is that food equals love,” said Gunnar Peterson of the Alliance for Healthier Pets (a partnership with the American Veterinary Medical Association and Hill’s Pet Nutrition). “Healthy treats in moderation are okay, but unfortunately many pet owners unknowingly are harming their cats and dogs by rewarding them with people food.”
Did you know that an ounce of cheddar cheese fed to a dachshund is the equivalent of an average woman eating more than two hamburgers? Or that a cup of milk given to a cat is the equivalent of an average woman eating at least four hamburgers or five chocolate bars?
