Candace “Dace” Brown has been working with the aged population since she was a teen. She began by volunteering and working with elders in nursing and assisted living homes. While working toward a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies, her passion became more focused on the minority community. She went on to earn master’s degrees in adult education and gerontology and now teaches health and gerontology courses in the traditional classroom setting, online, and in the community. Dace also has a personal interest in life extension through exercise.

This course has been included under the heading, “Transitions without Walls,” a Silver Planet project, funded in part by the Rose Community Foundation’s Boomers Leading Change initiative.
