Are you ready? Come on along and read some homespun poetry as well as a jot and tittle regarding distinguished poets and their works. Gael offers a positive balance of her own nostalgia notes and poetic meanderings with those of others. [Editor's note: Gael no longer contributes to Silver Planet, but we have made her archived blog entries available as a service to our readers.]

Last night there was a cold, clear full moon a-risin’. No longer evident was the golden richness of autumn’s lunar orb. As I snapped the brilliant gleam over a bleak landscape, its reflection on stark trees seemed to signal a resting time for my little corner of the planet.
I power down in early winter. It seems natural to select quieter pursuits. Hobbies like crocheting cause me to scurry out to find the latest colors in yarn—or locate a cool pattern to create the newest look in scarves.
In the season of early darkness, I write lengthier journal entries and create memory books of photos from summer’s adventures. I find it relaxing to spend long evenings learning new tunes on the keyboard or creating cheery cards for friends, who just may need a reminder that they are loved. Whatever I dig into, it usually nurtures my soul’s particular makeup. I have a need for quietude and look forward to reading and writing and to watching large, beautiful snowflakes dreamin’ silently down onto frozen ground.
These thoughts of the changing seasons bring me to a point, dear reader. We all know that goodbyes are a part of life, but for every farewell, another hello awaits! And so, the Silver Sage bids thee a cheery farewell with this final post.
I encourage you to stay tuned to Silver Planet, the site with solutions for seniors, as it takes a new and innovative direction that will provide you and your loved ones with valuable information and resources for aging in place.
