An Idyllic Day
An early morning with warm air and blue skies. Hawks wending their way overhead as they scan the fields for a yummy rodent breakfast. I sip my aromatic coffee and anticipate the wonders of fresh produce on an early Saturday morning as I prepare to head to the farmers’ market. Did you ever notice how much better fresh fruit and veggies taste when they are grown nearby and purchased from the people who grew them? I wish summer could somehow last forever—I don’t want to clean preservative wax off my greens anymore!
The farmers’ market in my town has expanded to a craft exposition as well as a produce paradise. My little dog, in his short summer ’do, is ready to parade around the various stands and lead me directly to the booth that sells natural-ingredient doggie treats. Now how does he know exactly where that is?
