Are you ready? Come on along and read some homespun poetry as well as a jot and tittle regarding distinguished poets and their works. Gael offers a positive balance of her own nostalgia notes and poetic meanderings with those of others. I hope, dear readers, that those of you who live in palm tree climes have at some time in your life beheld the beauty of a New England autumn. To gaze in awe at flaming maples is to gather moments of glory into your very soul. Autumn is the time of year when Mother Nature switches from the soft hues of her palette to the bold colors of scarlet, brilliant orange, and gold, and rushes here and there painting the trees with change.
Autumn arrives with a golden moon
to shine on harvested crops,
Her fresh, crisp air, and hoarfrost nights
bring shivering temperature drops.
Autumn carries a basket of bounty
culled from the depth of the soil,
And hand in hand she walks with God
rewarding mankind for its toil.
