What author is prolific, fun, testosterone loaded, and a great read? Clive Cussler. If you haven’t read any of his works, I highly recommend that you start. They are great fun—nothing heavy, but there’s lots of adventure and action. I’ll grant you that some of the premises are a little over the top, but, hey, what’s wrong with that in a work of fiction?

Right now I’m reading The Chase, a novel about a bank robber in the early 20th century and the crack private detective who is on the case. Many of Cussler’s novels deal with the sea and its exploration.
A couple of good ones to begin with are Trojan Odyssey and Valhalla Rising. The movie Sahara, with Matthew McConaughey, is based on Cussler’s novel by the same name—lots of action there rebuilding a crashed plane in order to escape the Sahara Desert. At any rate, if you like adventure, these are fun books.
