I usually have to watch myself when the subject of travel to England comes up.
I admit to being an Anglophile. I’m partial to English writers and actors, Masterpiece Theatre, and tales of kings, queens, Knights of the Round Table, and castles.
It’s hard to get me to shut up, so when our son and daughter-in-law finally decided to go to London for a week in April, I was determined to try to keep my mouth shut and my nose out of it. Fortunately, they asked me for some information—and that was all it took!
Emails with of lists of Web sites, information related from recent Realm and Britain magazines, and lovely memories percolating up from the past . . . okay, you get the picture.
Don’t feel too badly for the kids. They’re going to places I haven’t yet visited: Leeds, Canterbury, Dover, and a day trip to Paris on the EuroStar. They will repay me with lots of pictures and descriptions of their time there, and I will enjoy every minute of it!
