James Hubbard, MD, MPH
My Family Doctor
Dr. James Hubbard graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in the top of his class. A member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (for the nation's top medical students), he was then chosen for the highly acclaimed Parkland Memorial Hospital internship in Dallas, where he trained in internal medicine.
He established two of the most successful medical practices in North Mississippi and earned a master of public health degree. Dr. Hubbard is board certified in occupational medicine. He is also a fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In 2003, long-time family physician James Hubbard, M.D.,
M.P.H., made a radical career change. He launched Family Doctor magazine as an in-depth extension of the office
visit—a venue for readers to connect to health-care providers in a new way.
Experts wrote the articles, which busted fads, eschewed fear
in favor of solutions, and taught readers about their bodies—empowering them to
make healthy choices for a lifetime.
In 2009, Dr. Hubbard transferred his efforts to online
education, transforming the magazine into the MyFamilyDoctorMag.com website for
upbeat, practical, trustworthy information. His key outreach product now is the
MyFamilyDoctorMag.com health
newsletter, delivered via e-mail worldwide.
Dr. Hubbard remains on the front lines of health care,
seeing patients part-time. “My goal is to give people the information they need
to make informed decisions about their health,” he says, “so they can live
healthier, more fulfilled lives.”
